Good morning, starshine! That hiatus sure lasted longer than we thought it would.  In the interim, the Mels and I have become professional blogging girls for real live companies.  Weird, right? Anyway, you can throw out your Save a Blog of Two Cities tshirts, delete that #RIPablogoftwocities tweet, and just generally stop your blubbering, because it looks like we’re back for Season 2. And booooy do we have a lot to catch up on!

What happens when you take the most annoying song ever — Crazy by Knarles Barkley — and have one of the best grunge bands from the 80s/90s — Violent Femmes — to ever record a song (maybe) about masturbation or kicking heroin (nobody really knows…) — Blister in the Sun? Give up?

This is Happening: Kittens on a Roomba

Posted in seen on the interweb, you should like this, youtube with tags , , , , , on October 17, 2009 by melsanie

What I like about this video

  1. The people who decided to put the kittens on the roomba.
  2. It’s a last kitten standing/riding contest.
  3. Roombas amuse me.
  4. Um, small animals are adorable.  Obviously.

Real Housewives of Atlanta

Real Housewives of Atlanta

And so do I.  Why?

1. Kim’s “hit” single “Tardy for the Party”.

2. NeNe.

3. Lisa has two kids with 90’s R&B singer Keith Sweat that she’s legally not allowed to talk about on the show.

3. TLC’s T-boz makes an appearance.

4. Kandi WROTE “No Scrubs”.

5. Sheree’s fashion show to debut her clothing line “She by Sheree” is such a disaster, she doesn’t even have clothes to show, so they just tape some sketches on the wall for people to walk around looking at — and Sheree’s all, “So what?” When confronted about it.

6. Lisa’s Asian family.

7.  The “Alter Ego Photoshoot”

8. Kim’s wig line.

9.  The fact that they’re always drunk.

10. Did I mention Sheree had a fashion show without any clothes?

Below, a brilliant recap of the first two episdoes of the second season.  Someone give this guy a show — or, at least a sedative.

Her?

In honor of Patrick Swayze, the fact that this song just came on the radio (thanks, KOIT), and the countless hours of abuse I suffered at the hands of my older sister as she forced me to learn this dance routine with her:

Sometimes Actors Make Good Music

The actor in question today is Jason Schwartzman.  He performs under the name Coconut Records even though it’s a solo effort. Schwartzman’s second album, Nighttiming, came out earlier this year and I’m really digging it.  The music is a little indie but upbeat and not whiney (I’m looking at you Scarlet Johansson).  I think what I like most about is that he includes my girl crush Zooey Deschanel on one of his tracks, Ask Her to Dance.  Granted, it’s kind of slow, but I mean, it’s ZOOEY (and she has already proven to be an established singer and actress).  Anyway, I’m totally crunching on this album and you should too.
