Dreams DO Come True!

Good news: I found the greatest MTV reality show ever created, Rich Girls, starring Ally Hilfiger (daughter of Tommy) and her friend, Jamie Gleisher (?) available to watch online.

So far, I’ve watched the first episode, where they go to prom, and it’s everything I remembered and more.  In just one episode, I learned valuable life lessons like:

• It’s gross to take the subway.  The only acceptable way to get around Manhattan is via limo — even if you’re only going to the salon to get your nails done.
• “Treat the garbage man the same as The Queen.” — Ally.  The “help” (she really did call them this) are people too!
• Tommy Hilfiger invented cargo pants, and then “everyone copied him.”  This is a good myth to clear up, because I was under the impression that cargo pants were invented by the military to be used in battle, because they’re easy to move around in, and have a lot of pockets?  But nope.  Tommy Hilfiger.
• Don’t drink a lot of “coffee” during prom, otherwise you might throw up.  Must be something to do with the high caffeine content in coffee.
• At the age of 18, Ally Hilfiger was way cooler than the author of this post, age 23.

Bad news: I can’t link to Rich Girls, because I’m afraid it would get taken down.  Ally was apparently one of the producers of the show, and she wasn’t thrilled with the way she came off, so she’s been refusing to let the show get released on DVD.  Or so the rumors say.
