Hope you enjoyed the holidays/time off from work/excuse to stuff your face with cookies and pie. This holiday season I decided to treat myself to actually utilizing that tumblr account I created a year ago. Annnnnd so I did. At like 2am I created Found Objects, a blog of everyday life, told through pictures. Don’t worry, I’m not cheating on this blog with another blog, it’s really just a photo-blog side project. You know how Jack White has both The White Stripes and The Raconteurs? It’s like that.

Among my goals for twenty-ten (finally learn how to skateboard, find a job for realzies, and get knocked up by Tiger Woods — yeah, low blow, I know, but I only have like a week to make a stale Tiger Woods joke before the new decade makes ‘em obsolete) is to start writing more frequently on this blog. As a Christmas present, and an act of contrition for being a deadbeat blogger, I offer to you, this SNL video:

Quite A Hat (10-27-09)
A guy who posts his drawings of people in the subway. I want one of me! Ha. Yeah, I definitely took a good 5 minute detour to look around and post this, which, at 12:27am is generous. Love this stuff, it’s so New York. Maybe I’ll buy some…maybe.

Watching Three Men and a Baby of course. True or False: I totally loved this movie when I was 5. Of course I did. As I’m watching it now, I clearly had no idea that it was about three guys who were total man sluts. One of them being Steve Guttenberg. I was such a weird girl.

Posted in i like this with tags art, i need to collect art, i really like the new yorker, new york, new york at night is pretty on November 11, 2009 by melsanie
This is actually artist Jorge Columbo’s second cover for the New Yorker but as someone who has a weak spot for skylines and the Chrysler building, this one is my favorite. I still can’t believe this was created on an iphone. Below is a link to the New Yorker website that has videos of him completing the works on his phone. It’s pretty neat.
